BOUDOIR PHOTOS. Oh no you didn’t! Oh yes I did!

BOUDOIR PHOTOS. Oh no you didn’t! Oh yes I did!

Officially Became a Boudie Girl!

January 27, 2017, three days before my “30 Days to Better Challenge” came to an end, I was 13lbs lighter and I wanted to celebrate my accomplishment.  On this day, I had my boudoir photo session booked with Deb Fuller.  On this day, I officially became a Boudie Girl!

I had a friend share with me her boudoir photos that Deb took a few months ago.  When I saw them, I was instantly sold.  I thought that it would make an amazing gift for my husband.  And as I thought about it more, I knew it would be an even bigger gift for me.

I hardly ever spend money on myself.  I don’t have designer shoes or purses and 90% of my wardrobe has the same articles of clothing in it from 10 years ago.  I still drive my 6 year old Kia Soul because I figure if it ‘aint broke, don’t fix it.  I don’t go to many concerts, don’t go to many dinner outings and don’t go for overnight stays in hotels.  I don’t spend much because it takes a lot for me to see the true value in a material item or event.  These boudoir pics, are oozing with value and were worth every single penny.

Not only was I able to give my husband a bad ass Valentine’s Day gift, but the fact that I got these pictures done at 38, mom of a 3 and a 1 year old, is a one sure thing to be proud about.  The fact that I will have these pictures always to look back on, even when I am 80 years old, is truly priceless.

I have admired Deb’s work for months before booking a session myself.  The best thing about her photography is that it does not matter if you are 25 or 65, if you are 100 lbs or 300lbs, if you have snow white skin or covered from head to toe in tattoos.  She has a way of making everyone look flawless.

The day of my session began as a hectic one.  My husband was away on business and what I thought was going to be a quiet, easy morning ended up being chaos.  Both children woke up sick.  One was on the toilet and the other I could not change his diapers fast enough.  I knew that the daycare would not take them in their state.  I scrambled to find someone to watch them for a couple hours.  Luckily, their grandparents stepped in.

I thought I would have had a lot more time this morning to prep for my photo session with Deb.  Unfortunately, motherhood presented itself at full force.  I quickly showered and rushed to put my outfits together while taking care of the boys before my mom and dad took over.  I hustled out the door and tried to enjoy my 30 minute commute.  Once I reached Deb’s quaint studio, I was greeted at the front door with a sign:  Welcome Boudie Girl Kelly!  I instantly felt better.  This was going to be awesome.

Within a few minutes of entering her studio, I instantly became relaxed.  Deb’s make-up artist Nicole whisked me to a chair and Deb handed me a mimosa.  Orange juice and champagne was the perfect formula after the morning I just had.

Deb was incredibly friendly and personable.  I connected with her immediately which I knew was going to make this experience that much more enJOYable.  4 different outfits and about 4 hours later, the full experience was complete.  I felt empowered.  I felt courageous.  I felt confident.  I felt amazing to have done this for myself.  At that moment, it was the best feeling in the world.

I am obsessed with people who own small businesses.  I like to be around them, hear about their successes and how they have conquered their obstacles.  I love to hear the detail of their story be told of how they got to do what they are doing and I love to look at and admire the ins and outs of their business model.

Deb’s story is pretty inspiring.  From taking boudoir photos in hotel rooms to recently building her own studio on a country property close to Niagara Falls and barely an hour from Toronto.  Great little serene location with lots of character.

She has grown her Facebook page to over 7000 followers.  She interacts with them daily through posts and pictures that I have been following myself for months.  Deb is clearly very gifted and has created one fine little business.

Stepping outside the box.  Trying new things.  If you are a woman, in any shape, in any form, you NEED to do this for yourself.  I highly recommend Deb and if you want to contact me, I am happy to share my photos with you or better yet, ask to join her page:  Boudie Girls – Boudoir by Deb Fuller and book a session.  You will NOT be disappointed.

Keep doing what you are doing Deb.  You have a natural gift.  Bravo!
